Tour Description

Day 1: Departure to Africa
Today the our journey begins with a long-haul flight to Tanzania.

Day 2: Welcome to Tanzania
In the morning, you will arrivale at Kilimanjaro International Airport, the airport of Arusha in Tanzania, where it is called: Jambo! You will be welcomed by your local english speaking guide. Together, we will take a short trip to the west, where we will stay in a comfortable lodge for tonight. After a refreshing drink, we can enjoy the beautiful ambience of the house and relax next by the pool. On clear days, an incredible view of the famous Kilimanjaro can be seen and offers amazing photo opportunities. In the early evening, we will enjoy the sunset at the lodge before we are invited to the welcoming dinner. 32 km / DA

Day 3: The flamingos at Lake Manyara National Park
Today, after breakfast, we will head west through the Great Rift Valley and arrive at the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park at midday. In the west, the park is bordered by the high cliffs of the Great African Rift Valley, the approximately 220 km² Manyara Lake occupies the eastern part of the Valley. With some luck, On our safari today we are able to observe a lot of variety of of animals on today’s safari. Many elephants and buffaloes are found here, as well as pointed black rhino’s, zebras, hippos, giraffes, meerkats, baboons and other monkeys, leopards, zebra, banded mongooses and various antelope species including impalas, bushbucks, Kirk’s dik-diks, klipspringer and wildebeest. A great possible highlight today could be the sighting of the tree climbing lions! There are also more than 400 species of birds, such as hornbills rhino-birds. Ducks are sometimes found when breeding - Dwarf flamingos and pink flamingos can be found here in the thousands and offer excellent photograph opportunities. With 10% of its revenue from tourism, the Lake Manyara National Park supports the construction of schools, water systems and health centers in the local area. Later in the afternoon, we will arrive at our beautiful lodge, where we will have dinner in the early evening. Day 4: In the Serengeti National Park
Today we will take a spectacular route up to the Crater Highlands, where we will have an awe-inspiring fantastic view of the Ngorongoro Crater at the edge. Here we soon will reach the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The trip to our fantastic lodge, located in the middle of the park, will be our very first big safari through the Serengeti for us. The word "Serengeti" is derived from the term "Siringitu" from the Masaai language and means "the endless land" or "the endless plain". The Serengeti National Park, which is one of the largest and probably the most famous national park in the world with its almost 15,000 km² landscape, has been part of the World Natural Heritage of UNESCO since 1981. The area is home to an estimated 1.5 million striped wildebeest, Thomson- and Grant-gazelles, Burchell’s zebras and buffaloes, as well as thousands of predators, among the countless others you may encounter. In the afternoon, we will reach our beautiful lodge in the middle of the Serengeti National Park with surrounded by the most fantastic breath taking views. Day 5 and 6: In the footsteps of the great wildebeest migration in the Serengeti
After breakfast, we will head north to follow the spectacular wildebeest migration. In particular, the more than 1 million wildebeests, zebras, Thomson gazelles and eland antilopes are known for their extensive migrations, which depend on the dry and rainy seasons. They pass through the entire Serengeti to the Masai Mara area in Kenya and back return again all in the course of a year. The herds migrate between seasonal water sources and the grasslands, starting in May and June from the central plains to the western corridor and then northwards. The herds accompany pirates predators such as lions, spotted hyenas, striped hyenas, African golden wolves and black-backed jackals. The exact course of the migration is not quite predictable, but we will have two days to figure out the path they will be taking – this experience is a world-wide spectacle and an incredible highlight of this tour! For the next two nights, we are a guest in a stylish lodge in the Serengeti National Park. B, PM, DF, PM, A

Day 7: From Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
This morning we will be waking up bright and early! Before breakfast, you will be able to go on a morning game drive into the wide wide-open plains of the Serengeti. Once you arrive back at the lodge, we will enjoy our last brunch in this wonderful environment before heading south to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater. In a collapsed volcano, at about 1,700  m above sea level is the crater floor of the Ngorongoro. The side walls are between 400m and 600 m high, making so that the crater edge is about roughly 2,300 m. The diameter of the crater, a protected UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, is between 17 and 21 km wide. Here we will be resting in a comfortable hotel, with beautiful views, near the crater. 295 km / B, PL, DF, PM, A

Day 8: Natural paradise of the Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will leave our hotel and explore the unique landscapes of the Ngorongoro Ccrater. A true natural paradise, including all animal species of eastern Africa, that occure in this area. Due to the different heights here, the landscape between bush and heathland, long grass savannah and remains of evergreen mountain forests varyies tremendously. The crater floor is covered by short grass savannahs, masses of water bodies, river landscapes, wetlands and acacia forests. About 25,000 large mammals populate the crater, and this includes the highest predator density in Africa. Particularly large is the number of zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, eland as well as Grant- and Thomson-gazelles. They are hunted by lions, spotted hyenas and leopards. There are also elephants and hippos in the crater and hippos, although they are unusual in this area. Here too, pointed black rhinos can be found. The large great animal migration of the Serengeti also leads through the Ngorongoro Crater. After a picnic while observing the animals at the Hippo Lake, we will journey along the path that leads us over a steep mountain pass from the crater and we will then return to our accommodation in Arusha. In the evening While you enjoy a delicious farewell dinner, you will be able to reflect on this unique and mesmerizing safari trip. 213 km / B, PL, DF, PM, A

Day 9: Say goodbye to Tanzania or continue to Zanzibar
This morning after breakfast, the transfer back to Kilimanjaro airport near Arusha will commence. Here your will embark on your long-haul flight back to Europe. Alternatively, you may supplement this tour by a trip on to the dreamlike spice island of Zanzibar! 32 km / B

Day 10: Return home
